Wilma Cruise is a sculptor and visual artist who works mainly with fired clay in her renderings of life-sized human and animal figures. She explores the interface between humans and animals and existential conditions of muteness. She has had over 20 solo exhibitions, curated others and completed a number of important public works. Wilma is currently pursuing her doctoral studies in the field of art and animal ethics, is a fellow of Ceramics South Africa and writes extensively in the field of ceramics.
