The Art of Being a DJ
Local disc jockey and music producer, Siya is well-known to many audiences. He is Founder of Master Blaq Entertainment, director of Bluesky Talent Management and director of the Ubumnabdi Festival in Hermanus and has performed both locally – including at the Whale Festival – and nationally.
Siya will talk about computer-generated music composition, and demonstrate his DJ skills together with blind DJ and sound technician Minista, aka the Blind DJ. Siya has trained and given opportunities to many unknown artists, a few of whom have since received major contracts including Nomcebo Zikode (Jerusalema hit singer).
