Kim Tedder

Thread Artist

Kim Tedder’s  ‘previous life’ has been in studying and teaching literature and the humanities, but her ‘foreground’ now features her interest in art history, textile art, painting, travel, reading, and gardening. The link is always colour and texture.

Her artwork often reflects her interest in narrative, and the story-telling and mythology through which we make sense of our world. Sometimes the narrative may be a response to an experience, or a social situation; at other times the work may be a metaphor, or an analogy for one’s journey in search for personal or spiritual meaning.

Kim’s work has been exhibited in the US, the UK, France, Japan, New Zealand and Australia. It is held in public and private collections in these countries, and in South Africa.
